Bunny failed to make it home from an outing several weeks ago. His loss went unnoticed until bedtime, by which point it was impossible to effectively identify where he went missing.
To make matters worse, he went missing on a Friday which meant the usual places to search were closed for the weekend. Despite our best attempts, we were unable to locate him the following Monday (and putting up flyers in the most likely places has yielded nothing) and we have had to concede that he has been lost.
Alphie has taken it incredibly well, with only momentary bouts of sadness and longing. She pines for him quietly, though, and his absence sits close to her heart. She recently colored this page in a coloring book, which is the first drawing of Bunny she has ever felt compelled to draw:
