Today you found one of the European Paper Wasp (Polistes dominulus) nests that your dad has tried desperately to destroy.

This one was hidden in the dryer vent, which is below knee height for your dad.

Unfortunately, it is about waist high for you. I think we could even say it is head height for you, if we took an average of your head’s position relative to the ground over the course of the day.

So, you found the nest.

And one of the wasps found you.


You took it amazingly well, considering a bug the size of your head latched onto you and stabbed you. Ok, I am exaggerating a little, but you still handled it very well.

You screamed, as one would expect, you yelled "BUG!" and you cried, you yelled “OWIE!!!!”and you wanted to show us where you got stung. And you made this face:


And daddy killed all the wasps in the dryer vent.
