So, grades are in... an “A” and a “B”, so I brought my GPA down a bit...
I’m not too surprised by the “B”... I wasn’t a star pupil in the class, I was probably irritating at office hours (when the professor showed up), and I really could have worked a little harder. The professor rather lost my interest when he left for a conference for two weeks in the middle of the semester. Oh, and when he didn’t bother learning anyones name. Oh, and when he would skip out on office hours without posting a note or anything. Oh, and when he would answer all your questions by doing the homework problem for you, and not by explaining anything. At least he wasn’t
arrogant.
The “A” is nice, though. The class was “Evolution of Warfare” and was thorough and very fast paced. We basically covered all of human history in one semester, with about 40-50 pages of reading due each class. Though the class was a little lacking in the examination of the causes of conflict (which really wasn’t the point, because that doesn’t evolve too much), it was one of the better humanities classes I have ever taken, specifically because of the instructor. I would actually say it was one of the best, if not the best, classes I have taken, taught by the best instructor I have had.
So, again, a semester with a split decision on instructors. At least I get to change teachers after each semester, which I never got to do with bosses.
Which brings up the fact that I won’t be going back to school next semester. This semester was made possible because Courtney has been living with us and agreed to be a nanny on my class days, but, sad to say, Courtney is moving out.
The school has childcare options, but none available until Alphie is at least a year old.
So I am ducking out of school for a little while and Alphie and I will try to find some interesting things to do with ourselves.
